The first word of the Torah is Breishit, meaning "In the beginning".
Some say you can read it as "In a beginning" implying that there might
be other beginnings to other worlds or to parallel universes.
However, what really intrigues me is the secret that the Kabbalists
teach about that opening word. They illuminate the fact that if you
rearrange the letters of "Breishit" you get the two Hebrew words
"Brit Esh" meaning "Covenant of Fire."
Now that turns me on, for in the very first utterance of Torah there
is a secret message that we are not just talking about a story book
about the beginning of creation but we are also talking about a sacred
relationship with a holy fire that burns but does not consume.
Holy Burning Bush Batman! All I have to say is WOW!
B'Shalom,
Avniel
